Senior Analyst - Operational Due Diligence

Castle Hall's senior analysts lead a team responsible for completion of operational due diligence on a portfolio of hedge funds. Senior analysts:

• Visit hedge fund managers worldwide to conduct detailed interviews to assess operational risk;
• Conduct due diligence interviews with key service providers including fund administrators;
• Prepare and review due diligence files;
• Supervise the work of a team of analysts and assume a leading role for the ongoing training and development of Castle Hall's professional staff;
• Complete special projects as required, including preparation of industry articles and position papers and participation in industry conferences.

Senior Analysts will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the hedge fund and broader investment industry gained in Canada or in other leading financial centers worldwide. Candidates will display a detailed knowledge of the accounting, operational, legal and business management issues faced by hedge funds. Candidates will hold an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or business, and an MBA or other post graduate degree is also beneficial. Candidates will also hold a professional designation (such as the CA or CFA.)

Analyst - Operational Due Diligence

Working with Castle Hall's senior analysts and partners, analysts are responsible for completion of operational due diligence on a diverse portfolio of hedge funds. Analysts attend due diligence interviews with both managers and fund service providers and prepare comprehensive operational due diligence reports in Castle Hall's proprietary format. As report writing is a significant component of the analyst role, candidates will have excellent written communication skills.

Analysts will have prior experience of the hedge fund or broader asset management industry. Candidates will hold an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or business. Candidates who also hold a professional qualification (CA or CFA) or who have made significant progress towards such a qualification will be at an advantage.
